Dahlia FAQ
PREVIEW & LOCKED PRODUCTS: While updating inventory and allowing prior customers early access, product pages for purchasing dahlia tubers will be locked. Once generally available the lock will be removed. See this page to preview dahlias grown at Sugar Moon Gardens, this is not a guarantee that the stock will be available at sale date.
LIMITS: We're limiting the purchase of some highly sought-after varieties to give more growers the chance to cultivate these special types. Please respect this policy by being honest and fair. Orders exceeding the limit or multiples to the same household will be completely canceled, leading to a loss of the entire order.
ITEMS IN CARTS: Adding an item to your cart doesn't mean it's reserved. Your order is only confirmed once you check out and receive an order confirmation number and email. Please note that if you're buying multiple varieties, some might sell out before you complete your purchase. We know it's frustrating to miss out on something you wanted. We genuinely appreciate your patience and understanding. As a small business, we're doing our best with the stock we have.
SATISFACTION GUARANTEE: I really want your dahlias to grow happy and healthy. However I can only provide healthy tubers with a visible eye. Please contact us within 7 days of receiving your tubers to report any issues you see upon receiving them, and we'll try to make it right.
SHIPPING: Dahlia tubers will be shipped via USPS priority mail or UPS 2nd or 3rd day air to the United States lower 48 states only (no Alaska or Hawaii). Tubers will ship in April once freezing temperatures are no longer a threat. You will receive an email once the order ships with a tracking number. The cost of shipping is:
1-2 tubers: $12.00
3-6 tubers: $14.00
7 or more tubers: $16.00
COMBINING SHIPPING: I will be happy to combine shipping for orders if you contact me with your order numbers, and I have not sent any of your orders yet. Reimbursement for any additional shipping charges will happen once your orders have shipped.
PAYMENT: Online we accept most major credit cards, Apple Pay, and Shop Pay. In person we accept cash and credit cards.
DAHLIA VIRUS: Research from the American Dahlia Society reveals that about 87% of healthy, symptom-free dahlia plants carry at least one dormant virus. Sadly, this is a common issue in the dahlia community. We put our best efforts into keeping our plants healthy and virus-free. At Sugar Moon Gardens, we have our dahlias inspected annually by the WSDA, and we cull any suspicious looking plants immediately when we see them. Tools are cleaned and sanitized during the dividing process. Our gardens are not open to the public for U-pick or outside harvesting. We do not test plants for viruses, and cannot guarantee tubers are 100% virus free.
LIMIT OF LIABILITY: The buyer assumes all risk when buying tubers. Once the tuber is past the 7 day window. Sugar Moon Gardens will not be held responsible for outside factors that contribute to the health and vigor of the plant.
